Zetec Carb & Ignition Kit

The Ford Zetec 16 valve engines are robust, compact and powerful, can be easily tuned yet retain good reliability and mate directly to the Sierra 5 speed gearbox to give rear wheel drive. Ford made millions of these motors between 1992 and 1998 and fitted them to the Escort / Orion and Mondeo cars so there are plenty of cheap engines around.

Unfortunately, the original fuelling system, EFi or multipoint injection, if often too bulky to fit under the bonnett and the ignition spark control cannot be reprogrammed to release the full potential of the engine.

For these reasons, it is usual to replace the original fuel injection and ignition control systems with an aftermarket set up and several companies offer this, Omex, Weber Alpha, Emerald, etc albeit at a high cost, typically between £ 1,500 and £ 2,000 -
( Burton Power / Demon Tweeks ).

The Chester Sportscars alternative will cost less than Half this price.

A Full Zetec Carb and Ignition Kit includes :-

Chester MJL Zetec Ignition Tuning Module configured for TPS input.
Compact Disc with programming and installation instructions.
Computer connecting lead.
Set of LED output lights for shift or rpm sequence.
Ford EDIS ignition control module.
Connecting lead between components with soldered end plugs to suit.
Ford ignition coil pack and mounting bracket ( existing on engine ).
Ignition lead set ( existing on engine ).
Ford VR / flywheel sensor ( existing on engine block ).
Set of suitable ‘bike carbs on a swept & polished alloy inlet manifold.
( Carbs are cleaned and rejetted to suit the expected engine power).
